This May, we’re asking our community to lace up their trainers, pump up their bike tyres, and get moving for a fantastic cause. HEP Horizons is officially launching the 100km in May challenge, and we want you to be part of the journey.
Whether you’re a seasoned marathon runner or a family that loves a Sunday stroll, this challenge is designed for everyone. The goal? Cover 100km over the 31 days of May. The best part? You choose how you get there!
Horizons believes every child deserves access to experiences beyond the classroom, from music lessons to theatre trips and outdoor adventures. As the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact our community, your support helps bridge the gap for children who might otherwise miss out on these vital opportunities.
Every penny you raise will go to support Horizons programmes that support children and young people in Haringey, Enfield and Waltham Forest to access extra-curricular activities and experiences.
There are no speed limits and no set routes. You can reach your 100km target at your own pace, in your own style:
At its heart, this challenge is about more than just fitness. It’s about fairness. Horizons works across Haringey, Enfield, and Waltham Forest to provide extracurricular opportunities for children who might otherwise miss out.
From funded music lessons and trips to the theatre to outward-bound adventures, Horizons ensures that a child’s background doesn’t limit their experiences. In the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, these "extras" are often the first things to go, yet they are vital for a child's growth and wellbeing. By taking part, you are directly helping us bridge that gap.
Joining the movement is easy!
If you can’t take part this year, you can still help by sharing this post or cheering on those who are hitting the pavement. Let’s make this May a month to remember for the young people in our schools.
