Horizons is proud to have partnered with Estudiantes to support the delivery of three football groups this year.
Estudiantes provides a free sports provision to young people who would not otherwise be able to take part in sport outside of school or college.
Through support from Horizons, Estudiantes will be reintroducing the girls’ football group at the club, a Year 5 and 6 primary school group after school on a Monday, and a group for older teenage students on Friday evenings.
Estudiantes provide high-quality free and inclusive sport to young people on condition that young people show a positive attitude to their education. Their methodology has seen average academic attendance of their participants rise from 76% to 94% since they started the club.
The club proudly reflects the incredible diversity of the area in which we work. 91% of their participants are from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. 85% of their club’s coaches are from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds. Horizons is thrilled to welcome them as a partner.
About Estudiantes
Estudiantes is a sport-for-development club proudly based in Tottenham and working with young people from Haringey and Enfield. Established in 2018, they are a registered charity working to provide high-quality, free and inclusive sports provision for young people. The club is based on the idea that educational excellence and social mobility could be achieved via the medium of sport; that a commitment to striving for excellence in sport could drive excellence in life.
In 2024, they were awarded Sports Charity of the Year in London by the Greater London Enterprise Awards. In 2023, they won The Amateur FA Club of the Year in England.
