Eligibility

Must live within the boroughs of Haringey and Enfield or be at BRIT/BRIT Kids

Must be 15- 18 years old

Must have parental/ guardian permission

Prize

Performing the winning song on stage at ‘One Step beyond, with Suggs and friends’ as part of the star-studded line up on 27th October 2022

Entry criteria 

-Applicants should submit a video performance of their song consisting of music and song lyrics

-The song must be no more than 5 minutes in length, if a song is longer it will not be accepted

-Entries received after the deadline will not be considered

-Shortlisted applicants will have their song available for the public to hear on Horizons website and social channels in the weeks leading up to the event

-The shortlisted applicants in each category will be chosen on or around 29th September

-Shortlisted applicants will partake in auditions in front of our judges on 30th September to decide the winner

- The final winner will perform at Alexandra Palace theatre, 27th October 2022

Terms and conditions

By entering the competition you agree:

• Songs should consist of your own work and not infringe any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.
• The composition must be a song with lyrics and not purely instrumental
• It is the young person's responsibility to check that the submitted file plays correctly before submitting their work. If faulty non- playing recordings are submitted, the entry will be void.
  - That any material submitted and any consequent live performance footage, along with winners name, photo, voice promotions  may be utilised for promotional and publicity purposes on Horizons website, digital channels and other third party websites and in publicity and promotional material and press releases without further consultation or remuneration
• Entrants retain full song ownership rights and all copyrights to all songs submitted
• The judges decision is final and binding and students agree by entering the contest to accept and abide by the judges decision

Winners will be available to perform at the event as detailed:

One Step beyond, with Suggs and friends will take place on Thursday the 27th October 2022.
- The winners must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian on the night

- Must agree to the normal requirements placed on performers, namely:
- To perform at the time notified to them (for the agreed length of time);
- Agree to any filming or recording as required;
- Work with the Stage Manager and meet all Health and Safety requirements
