Valerie Hannon is the independent Chair of Haringey Education Partnership. After a distinguished career in education at local and national level, she is now an independent writer and consultant working internationally, inspiring systems to re-think what ‘success’ will mean in the C 21st, and the implications for education.

She is a regular keynote speaker and facilitator at international conferences and workshops, drawing upon her substantial research and publications.

Valerie is a Senior Consultant for OECD currently working on its High Performing Systems for Tomorrow program, specifically on a workforce for the future. Her book THRIVE (Cambridge University Press) has been highly influential. FutureSchool (Routledge) appeared in 2022.

Patrick Cozier is an experienced Secondary School Headteacher of nearly 20 years. He leads Highgate Wood School in Haringey.

As well as being on the board of Horizons, he serves as a trustee of the national charity Show Racism the Red Card. More locally, he takes a leading role in the work of the Haringey Racial Equity Group on its focus to reduce racial inequality and improve the outcomes and experiences for children of colour.

As a member of the black community, he is passionate about seeking equality, justice and fair outcomes for people of colour.'

Resham has dedicated more than three decades to education in both London and abroad. She served as Head Teacher at Tiverton Primary School in Tottenham- an area of high economic deprivation- for 17 years before retiring in August 2022.

Since retiring from Headship Resham has worked as an Elective Home Education Advisor with Haringey, strategically supporting both the Haringey EHE team and also the families who, for a range of reasons, have chosen to educate their children out of school. Following this, she is now an advocate for families who home-educate their children as well as supporting and advocating for children and families who are facing challenges in schools.

Resham also teaches ESOL classes and facilitates conversation classes for people from around the world who wish to improve their spoken and written English.

As a qualified coach, Resham mentors a range of professionals to thrive and survive in the world of education, both in London and abroad.

As a Muslim woman of Pakistani heritage, Resham is engaged with both individuals and organisations to support women of colour to access and achieve recognition and success in their chosen fields, particularly those working in hostile environments.

As well as being on the board of Horizons, Resham also serves as a trustee of another local charity, Hope in Haringey.

Tony Hartney CBE has led both primary and secondary schools in inner London, spending 23 years as Headteacher of Gladesmore Community School in Tottenham—an area of high economic deprivation. Under his leadership, the school fostered an exceptionally positive ethos, achieved strong outcomes, and built impressive community relationships. For nearly two decades, Gladesmore received outstanding Ofsted judgements, with over 100 students securing bursaries to study at independent sixth forms. The school also became a flagship institution for both the Premier League and Moody’s Corporation.

Since retiring from headship, Tony has focused on safeguarding audits and advising schools in this area. He continues to support educational improvement through HEP and led the acclaimed London-wide Stepping Stones initiative for the Greater London Authority. Notably, he played a pivotal role in restoring calm and strengthening community relations following the 2011 riots. In addition, Tony has chaired multiple education and community boards and has served as a governor across various primary, secondary, pupil referral units, alternative education providers, and sixth-form settings.
